| Sun protection that actually works! I burn very easily in the sun. I've often wondered whether I have ginger skin, or am a vampire. I've tried various sun creams, with limited success. I need at least factor 50 from most of them to get any worthwhile protection. But recently Kath Fitzpatrick suggested that I try Riemann's P20. Lez Newsome recommended it to her. They're both redheads, so have reason to know about this kind of thing. It's expensive, and I was sceptical because it's only factor 20, but I tried it at Bronte yesterday. It's a gel with a strong initial whiff of alcohol. You rub it on, then wait 15 minutes before going out in the sun. It bonds to the skin and lasts all day. It's supposed to be waterproof too, though I didn't test that. Result? No burn! My face, forearms and neck are all absolutely fine this morning and have barely changed colour. So it actually works. Definitely recommended. Riemann P20 Once A Day Sunfilter - Home |

| Yes - its brilliant stuff. Slosh it all on in the B&B and then don't worry - no sticky slippy hands etc during the day. The aftersun is good too and the insect repellent is the tops. Ity used to be quite difficult to find, but its available in loads of shops now and I've even found it in TK-Max at a discount if you don't happen to be in airport duty-frees very often.

| I've heard nothing but good things about Riemann's, however I use L'oreal Solar 50+ to very good effect (when I remember to use it ). I am allergic to chemical suncreams, so I use the ones with immediate effect (usually containing zinc oxide - think surfers with white cream on their noses). They don't leave you with white residue and last for hours, if not all day. I've had some bad burns in the past but Solar (Neutragena also do one, but not sure if it's available here) is the only one that's worked for me without causing any skin irritation.

| Stangley enough, when i saw the heading , I was going to recomend P20. I used it when on holiday and it works. You just need to make sure you get up earlier, have a shower and don't use conditioner on your hair as this stops the gel sticking to your skin. So, once dry, paint it all over and then make sure you are dry before getting dressed, otherwise it can stain clothes.
