Try a well-stocked Arts & Crafts store. They generally have a range of some of the brightest, snazziest coloured ropes in different styles and sizes. That's where I get my crazy coloured ropes like the one in the photos.
For the laces, try Millets, or any good camping store - they sell them for walking boots.

For 'string' go to a yacht chandlers - miles of the stuff in every colour you can imagine (plus a few you wish you hadn't!)

Wrist / Finger sling

Here's a wrist finger sling that I like to use and very easy to make with a couple of slip knots and bit of string...

The sling

Thumbs up

I use the same type of sling as you, Radsbow !

Here it is : http://ceciletoxo.free.fr/drag.jpg

That sort of sling have the advantages of both the common types of sling and not the drawbacks : finger slings tend to make fingers and hand contract unwillingly ; wrist slings do not contract fingers but the bow may be uncomfortably hanging at the end of the shoot. With the hybrid sling, no problem at all, but it need to be adjusted to each archer.

I highly recommend the use of such slings either for advanced ot biginning archers !

Maybe I have odd shaped bones/fingers/thumbs, but I find that no matter how I try to loop the darned things over my thumb I get my blood circulation being cut off

Now using dog clip type sling - no cut off blood supply

Wow!! Neat sling idea Christopher! Where do you buy the air tubing from?
