| I'm about to embark on a dying experiment. Not to green though. I'm trying to repair one of my wife's shirts - it's purple . |

| im confused... if you want something to be white...why not just use bleach? is there something bad about bleach? i dont own any white clothes sooooo i dont really know what im talking about.. |

| Bleach weakens fabric and it doesn't turn it truly white if it's been discoloured or stained. More a yellowy off-white. Better to use a dye remover or a whitening product. Way back when, it was popular to use bluing solution on white fabrics if they were beginning to go dingy. It counteracted yellowing. Don't ask me why I know all this. I'm psychotic about laundry ![]()

| One old product called 'Nappy San' used to bring my white shirts bach to life. I also know that a lot of Cheffs used it to sort out their 'Whites'. Its now in short supply however due to disposable nappies. The other product is 'Glow White' works but not as well.

| The thing putting me off glo-white is that womble used it on the white's before and the collar of my AIUK shirt went a pale beige!! I did wear the 'pink' trousers today, it's very faint on this pair so they'll do until I get some more! Got an aardvark shirt too and that's really white ![]()
