| Creepy serving no more! Our friend "geoffretired" told me I should post this suggestion here.
Some serving thread material may be more slippery than others and cause problems once installed. I will give you a trick my coach taught me.
In order to keep the serving where it should be (and stay) one should dab the string with "correcting fluid" (Liquid Paper (tm)) and let it dry completely. YES! The stuff for correcting typing errors! This should be applied only where the serving shall be installed AND after having given the string the required number of turns it should have once installed.
Once dried up, apply the serving and I have never seen a serving creep when I have used that method.
OK if not sufficiently dried when you start applying the serving, it will "whiten" the serving and the serving applicator, but it is easily cleaned up afterwards.
The Liquid Paper sticks very well to the string and has a very matte surface. Also take care to use it as liquid as possible and avoid "chunks" in the application.
Have fun! |
