The powerball instructions I have are explicit in saying you dont move your elbow at all when using it, so its odd that it is cited as damaging cartilage there. I also googled as you suggested, and found nothing... Might be a bit soon to write them off...

| I hope they are alright, I have just bought one! I am hoping that stronger forearms will mean that I can keep my fingers quieter on the string, with less tension. I can only get to shoot occasionally, and doing reversals does not train these muscles.

| You can do reversals with out the elbow sling. When starting up again last year I was doing reversal every day to build up my strength. I was just drawing the bow to full draw and holding for as long as possible then coming down. I found it helped as it was working all the muscles and joints that would be used for the shot anyway.

| I also found with the powerballs that if affects your grip after a while. I found my fingers were not as strong as they used to be and found pain in my finger joints. I am only 23 by the way and a musician playing saxophone and guitar so have strong nimble fingers anyway, this affected my playing and general pain occured. Don't get disheartened, use it and enjoy it, just stop when it starts to hurt. Dont go all macho and keep going. |
