sight postion

just bought a cartel x pert sight (i no not the best one but what with only just starting out i cant spend toomuch dough) and am wondering where i should position the exstension arm, should it be all the way out and secured at the end? or secured half way down? is this just going to be trial and error to find whats bet for me or does the position effect aim etc?

any help would be great

Hi, eastdesign, if you're shooting indoor distances ie: 20yards, I would have the sight extension fully out. as you shoot outdoors at further distances you will have to adjust it in closer to the riser. And don't feel the need to apologise for what kit you've got, if it does the job then thats all you need. anyone

In theory , the further out it is the more accurate it should be. However that is not always the case in real life. On a long extension, some archers find the sight pin moves so much they can't decide when to release the arrow. At longer distances the long extension can put the sight so low that the arrow will strike it on its way out. You may find that indoors all is well for you when it is fully extended. Outdoors , you made need it closer. Some would say that there is one extension that suits them best at all distances. In that one position hand torque can be better compensated for.It is worth trying different settings and finding out what works best for you. As your shooting changes you may find a different setting gives better results.
