If you start getting trouble with the self tapper working loose, don't retighten it too many times as it might cause excessive damage to the hole in the riser, as others have said, get it to an engineering company and get a thread repair insert like a "Heli-coil" put in. Hope this advise may come in handy for anyone else with similar problems.

Cheers, Jim.

A small amount off WD 40 first in the hole and left to sit for a while wouldnt do any harm either.
Or you could use a reverse tap. You drill into the sheared bolt as central and straight as possible. Then you uncrew the tap into the bolt. The tap looks like a normal tap except the thread is counter clockwise i.e when the you are unscrewing, the tap screws into the bolt. Once the tap reaches a certain depth it bites into the bolt and since you are unscrewing it unscrews the bolt

Greensteve: If you want it neat again, a Helicoil is the answer. Result is the same thread you had before. However, (Don't know how it is in the UK) here in the Netherlands it's almost impossible to find those in american threading.
Until someone pointed me to a Harly Davidson workshop. No problem there: it was sorted in 5 minutes at no cost.. nice guys.

Peter

I have spent many an hour at Boot's nail varnish counter, matching colours for guitar body repairs.

The sights bolted on and so long as it doesn`t move again i`m not touching it
if however to does move again or come loose i`ll find an engineering shop and get it sorted wiht HeliCoil or whatever works

as for nail varnish i must have looked a rather strange sight wandering around the town centre wiht me riser in hand nipping in and out of Superdrug ,Claires Acc`s and Boots and even stranger examining the nail varnish displays.
Green Nail Varnish is pretty rare it seems i found some though its not an exact match but it`ll give a seal to the exposed area`s
