Don't overcook it. You should start to feel the benefits after a month. Remember to get plenty of rest in between sessions aswell.

Keep it up.

hello!

id like to ask a few stuff, im from the philippines and next week's the last week of school then finally summer! i was thinking of doing some serious stuff to develop my archery, and one of those was by biking from home to school where the range is, it usually takes 15 minutes from our home to school in a car so i guess 30 minutes of biking would do me some good, MWF would also be spent playing badminton at night to further develop my stamina,

would this be a good idea?

Ive just started last week but i dont think any type of excersise is bad, ive been told in theis thread not to bulk my arms up as it can cause clearance problems.

any kind of cardio vascular stuff is good for general health and fitness.

i cycle to and from work; it's only about 4 miles each way, but i get 1 hr on my bike as a minimum every week day, i think it's helped along with gym stuff

any cardio vascular stuff will be good.

how bout weights?

i have only one dumbbell here at home and i was thinking of doing only the necessary exercises for specific parts, like simulating drawing with the weights but only with the draw arm, would that be bad? as it would lead to the body not being able to develop equally

I cycle to work too, it seriously helps as I wouldn't otherwise have enough time to do that along with the archery practise I like to do in summer (don't do much in winter). Only 5 miles each way but for anybody who knows Portsmouth - I go from portsea island to the top of the cliff, a bit of a hill.

i do a small range of weights mostly working on endurance - chest press, seat lat, and seated row machines.

this website is quite useful:

Exercise and Muscle Directory

i also do the 'bean tin' exercise
starting with arms by your sides, raise them in front of you (keeping arms straight and palms facing down) then rotate them until your palms face each other and swing them out to your sides, so you look like a t shape, then drop them down to beside your hips.

do that with light weights, keeping your arms straight all the time.
