Towards the end of last year's outdoor season I found the Saints and Sinners web site with their Handicap calculator very useful,

Wink

Cheers lots of help hopefully I will be able to snatch a classification this year.

On average i know its going to be different but if im shooting 540's on a portsmouth it should be possible to grab a 3rd class this summer. If not i'll kick my self.

i would think you should do AT LEAST that easily shooting like that

ive not cracked 500 yet on a portsmouth (i dont shoot so well indoors for some reason) but will be gutted if i dont get 2nd class outdoors in my first season this summer - already got one qualifying score in the bag - only two to go !

(which raises a question - do all your 3 scores need to be on different rounds or can you gain a classification shooting the a qualifying score on the same round 3 three times ? )

Cool

well you and me both. Hope everyone can do as well as possible this year.

not sure about which rounds and variation for your 3 for your classification, i dont see why it whould matter so long as you shoot the correct score on each round, because they all differ.

Don't sell yourself short. Last indoor season (my first) I did not manage better than 538 for a Portsmouth. In the outdoor season I made it to Bowman.

Believe in yourself.

Main secret is to get comfortable with shooting the longer distances, then the shorter ones seem easy.

Yeah... discounting anything seriously major happening (death, serious injury, archery been made illegal) you should cruise 3rd Class outdoors..

my advice... shoot on 40cm faces before you go outdoors as this well get you used to a smaller face
