Smile Newcomer & Winex limbs

Hello Everyone,
I joined a couple of weeks ago but got lost on how to post a thread - I'm not very compeuter literate! A belated "Hello" to you all.

Anyway, it's good and helpful to be able to view everyone's questions and comments. I'm new to archery - taking lessons at the moment. I've been looking at equipment. I wondered if anyone has experience of the W&W Winex limbs? I've read that it is claimed they can be up to 7 fps faster than other limbs of equal poundage. Is this true? If so, does this affect the choice of the "spine" rating of arrows shot using these limbs?

Any help you could offer would be gratefully received.

Regards

PhilK

welcome aboard....

please note that the ad does ( or did) say 'up to 7fps...' .

I found that I did not need to change my arrow spine moving from Challenger Craft wood/glass limbs to Winex of the same weight/length.

But this may vary with the spine/model of arrow you are using, and the weight of the limbs.

T.

I have kept the same arrows while using 36#Challenger craft,40#Winact and now 42# Winex. More speed, maybe, better scores marginally.

If you managed that and kept a decent tune, I'd be very very surprised... going from 38# focus limbs to 38# winex had a marked difference in my tuning.

Welcome aboard PhilK.

Whilst others are replying to PhilK's post, perhaps they could also explain to me why an additional 7fps matters?

Welcome!

And as other people have already said, 7fps faster than which limb? It's a meaningless figure, because speeds vary so much. Feel, consistency and quality control are much more important.

My tuning has changed. Button adjusted heavier points and then 10mm cut off the shaft.
