Hi Dan welcome aboard have a and , The best advice I can give you is to join a club and do a beginers course BEFORE you buy a bow you will be amazed how much will change in six weeks plus you will have coaches to advise you on your chioce of bow , A much better option than not really knowing what you are buying

Hi Dan... Welcome to the forum. As E.A. said first join a club & do a beginners course before buying any equipment. It will save you money in the end as you would probably buy stuff that would be of no use to you and totally unsuitable.

Welcome Dan! English Archer is giving you excellent advice there. You will have to do a beginners course before being able to shoot at a club or in a tournament. By the time you have shot for a couple of months the weight of bow you can draw will have increased considerably, as will your draw length and both factors have an influence on the arrows you will need. Any kit bought before this will almost certainly be a complete waste of money.

Most clubs will have bows for you to use during the beginners course, and usually for some time after. Take full advantage of this and get the advice of your club coach before you go shopping!

Enjoy yourself and let us know how you get on!
