Hello

Hi Everyone,

just back from a cycle with my 9 yr son, who has just informed me he would like to take up archery and would Father Christmas be able to help. I am now busy searching the forums for advice on beginners kit, clubs etc, based nr Grantham, so all help gratefully appreciated. Sorry its such a newbie introduction

guess this is the slippery slope to the family taking up the sport
cheers
Simon

Welcome Simon, its customary to offer & to newbies.

Rule 1. Do not buy any kit, until you have read rule 2. (Unless you want to waste your money)
Rule 2. Sign up to a beginners course see GNAS - Clubs pick a club from your county. All GNAS clubs run beginners courses, which over a number of weeks cover the basics using club equipment. Ask for advice on equipment during the course. After the course clubs have different approaches, some require to buy your own equipment, some offer hire of club equipment, some will let you continue to use their equipment until you are ready to buy your own.

Looks like there is a club on your door step. Grantham Archery Club
