Absolute beginner
Hi there! Can I get a round in?



I'm Chris, tried recurve 25 years ago as a student in Edinburgh and it's taken this long to get back into it. I read a lot on the net about longbow in the last year or so and it's fascinating to see traditional archery resurrecting in the face of modern super-accurate archery , so I joined a course run by Companions of the Longbow in Swindon, by Bob Bonnington. It's been enormous fun, and really encouraging too in terms of results. Like the other six in the class (three girls, four boys) I'm really looking forward to buying my first stick and fletching a few shafts!

If there's anyone in the Reading area shooting longbow I'd be interested to hear from you - where and how you shoot!

Welcome to the fun house....

I've just taking my first venture into trad. style shooting - recieved an American Flatbow yesterday. Looks like its gonna be a lot of fun!!!

Its good to hear of someone opting for the trad route, rather than the usual recurve. One junior at my club, started the beginners course with a recurve, but finished it, shooting a mongolian - been shooting it ever since...and doing well with it!!!
