Talking Who is Zito

Many thanks for the welcome, folks!

Zito the Bubbleman came about htorugh some of my friends back up in Scotland. A couple of them play with the Vale of Athol Pipe Band and some years ago in a competition they played a set of tunes containing one which had just been written and was still un-named. They won unexpectedly and were asked to provide names for ALL the tunes in their winning set.
Being young and full of humour, not to mention Glenfiddich and beer by this late time, they came up with the Zito name based on a rather sad bloke they had seen on a recent pipe band tour with the Vale in sunny Italy. In one of the towns they saw a calamatous entertainer trying hard to produce entertaining bubbles in size and quantity in the town square, called, Zito the Bubbleman.
The Bagpipe world can be suffocatingly stuffy and much laughter and further Glenffidich was had when the announcers wrinkled their noses but had to announce this tune as first in the winning set.
The same guys also played for a folk band called Ceolbeg and the tune can now be found on one of their CD's from the early 90's.

Shoot straight!
Scott
