Hello and welcome

Why not try Oxford Archers? We don't bite, honest! Oxford Archers. Practices every Thursday (from 7pm) and Sunday (from 5pm) at Upper Heyford for the indoor season, then any evening you care to name at Oxford RFC in North Hinksey for the outdoor season.

Oh, and I'm one of the coaches

although i have a pretty basic recurve bow i am looking for somewhere to practice with my crossbow but it is too powerful for most clubs and i am struggling to find a less powerful bow for it.

Hmm must admit I don't know about accommodating crossbows. Our club sec (reg) is on here too though, I'm sure he'll be along shortly...

Hi there azz and wedlcome to the forum!

In my limited experience, few clubs are prepared to accomodate crossbows - I suppose it's just too different from the recurve/compound traditional mix they're used to.

Siut tight and have some and a (or if you prefer, some and a ). Someone will be along with a solution shortly, I don't doubt...

Whaddya mean, some and some ? Greedy...

Hi Azz welcome to the forum. Not sure that the crossbow is used in many places but I did see two fellows shooting crossbows at a Windrush Archers NFAS shoot this year. They are based in Witney just up the road from you. Try contacting them through their website. Hope this helps.
