A friend and fellow archer has sent me here to pick up tips because he said you all know loads of good ones
So here I am. My name is Amanda and I am 42 and I am an archery addict.
My son (aged 15) and I did a 6 week beginners course in August last year and then joined the group. A superb bunch of people who absolutley love encouraging new archers and never tire of answering all our silly questions.
We bought a recurve each and then recently I bought a Sythian horse bow. It is lovely and I really enjoying using it but I have decided to put it away for now and concentrate on perfecting my recurve skills. I use the term 'perfecting' loosly of course
Being almost totally eye neutral I have to concentrate very carefully on making sure I have the correct eye closed which seems to be my biggest problem so far. I am also ambidextrous but unfortunately have nowhere near enough strength or control to be able to shoot left handed. I was really considering taping up my 'naughty' eye but it seems to be gradually getting the message now.
I am working very hard to improve my PB of 474 (shot at 20yds and a small target)...I am determined to get past 500 and catch my friend Dave ASAP
Wish me luck!
