Hi Everyone

Just thought I'd be polite and say hello. Just waiting to start my beginners course, only 3 weeks to go now!

Been trawling around the site for a few days now and learned loads already, everyone seems really friendly.

Apologies in advance for the hundreds of questions I'll be posting as soon as I get a bow in my hand!

Welcome

Hi Gavin,

Welcome to the confused world of the beginner - like me!

I had my first begimmeds lesson last week and am looking forward to the rest of the course. No equipment as everyone quite rightly advocates waiting until you have joined a club and taken enough advice.

I have to travel 25 minuites to the course even thogh other clubs are on the doorstep, but no beginners courses until late April/May and wanted to get going.

A very good book, if I may suggest, is the 'Archery Steps to Success' which I am reading and find very helpful.

Good luck with your training.

Thanks for the hearty welcome everyone. Particular thanks for the , and ! is my favourite! (second to of course)

TT, My beginners course is at Wolverhampton Company of Archers in case you know it, CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

Alexam, thanks for the recommendation I'll certainly check that book out. Interestingly I've read a few posts which have mentioned that particular book.

Shirt, I have used this name as my internet handle for about 12 years now and believe it or not you are the first person ever to ask! It wasn't based on the song by Extreme, although it is a song I like.

Guys, thanks again for the warm welcome, I'm sure I'll be talking to you all alot when I get started. Theres bound to be loads of advice I'm gonna need!

Alexam, be nice if you could pm me with how you're getting on with your course it would be great to have someone to chat to who was starting up around the same time as me. Never know, one day far off from now we may even meet at a shoot lol.
