Hello,

my names Art and I'm an archer. I'm only a beginner having taken up the English/Welsh longbow this summer. So far I'm having mixed success with a lot of misses!


I particularly interested in making my own kit. I bought a nice little booklet the other day called "Making the Boughstave Longbow" It gives detailed instructions on how to make a bow from a tree branch (or bough). Which is probably closer to what the average medieval bowman would have possessed. No fancy horn nocks or leather grips.

I'm going to have go once I find a suitable branch.

Anyone who has any experience of making bows or anyrhing else I'd welcome any advice
