RE: To get the ball rolling..

Hi
I'm Pete, I shoot with Yateley Archers. Been shooting for 3 and a bit years now. I use a Hoyt GM, Samick limbs
My ambitions:-

Attain Bowman status
Shoot an all-gold Portsmouth (pb 573)

Biggest achievement: Still shoving my Handicap down a point or two once in a while.

I monitor the Archery NGs alt.archery & rec.sport.archery and contribute when my utterings have added value.

RE: To get the ball rolling..

Hi, Liz Garrigan from Penicuik Archers, Scotland here. Been shooting for a number of years, but only got into outdoor competitions for past two seasons, mostly due to my son wanting to try for a place in Scottish Junior Squad. He did it!!
Whole family are archery freaks, what did we ever spend money on before archery came along.
One of my goals for this outdoor season is to up my poundage by a chunk, windy days kill me completely. Just need to choose which limbs, only wish i could make up my mind, am driving coach/hubby daft.
Our club run a number of comps through the season, if anybody fancies a trip up, we have a DFStar in May, FITA Thistle June and a Premier in Sept, will get more info on club pages later.
Bit of a coward about posting, most other folk know more than me, I belong to the point and shoot and hope for the best school of thought!! Really hoping to achieve an 1100 FITA score this year.

RE: To get the ball rolling..

Hi. Wayne Cappleman from Aldershot, Hampshire. I shoot for Fleet Ibex Field Archery Club. I've only been shooting since the beginning of the year. My two sons have been shooting longer than me, and it was a little boring walking round field shoots and scoring for them, so now I shoot as well. At the moment I shoot an Internature flat bow, but save money by making my own arrows.

RE: To get the ball rolling..

Hi,

I shoot with Yateley Archers and have been shooting for over 20 years since starting while at school.

My goal for this year is to get Bowman status and not to get to wet whilst doing it.

RE: To get the ball rolling..

Hi all, I'm Gareth and shoot with the Allington Castle Archers down here in the sarf of ingland. Been shooting for about 6 months having had the opportunity of a days coaching from Alison Williamson just before the olympics. Shooting a Hoyt GM with Edge limbs. I usually manage to keep my arrows on target but get shouted at occasionally for skillfully placed leg shots

Hopes for the outdoor season - some decent weather would be nice See ya.

RE: To get the ball rolling..

Mike Wingate. North Cheshire Bowmen. I started shooting in January 2005, begining with a starter course. I have just bought my own equipment after 3 months use of club equipment. Win&Win Winact riser 25", Challenger 36lb limbs, X7's,Arc SX10 sight,Shibuya button, Cartel Balcan multi-rod stabilizer and hopefully a Spigarelli Z/T W&W arrow rest. Most of the equipment, including case, quiver, string was purchased on line from Bowsports, they are really helpful and good value. The limbs, Arten short rods and TM4 adjustable v-bar and arrows were purchased off ebay. I have been shooting indoors twice a week, and am now shooting outside.
