Hi From the Darkside!
Hi from a Sheffield Dark Sider

I tried to post on here this morning and got it dreadfully wrong, good job I don't shoot a computer isn't it?

As you've probably guessed I'm a compound Archer, started out with second hand equipment late last summer shootin off fingers and managed to gain 2nd class by the end of the year and came last in the club championships, gaining more 6 grass ends than anyone had ever seen, please note I'd only been shooting 3 days at this point and never shot at 50yds or 60yds.

Since then - I've aquired a new bow that's more suited to me and have managed to gain Bowman standard this year just!!

I also WON the club championship without a single arrow in the green! Not much out of the inner red either mostly golds, much to the chagrin of my fellow archers (well at least one top class recurver, who couldn't understand how I'd won) or that I had to make up 115 points before I got in front of her because of my handicap. (no easy feat, especially in the middle of that heat wave, but the tan was worth it, I looked like I'd been abroad).

I've also managed to attain the coveted 6 gold end at 60yds then followed it 2 weeks later with a 6 gold end at 80yds much to the surprise of all in the club including me!!

Well must run now, hoping to get some arrows sorted tonight for the recurve I've just bought (for the fun shoots only, don't like to shoot the compound without sights) PS can't shoot recurve like the compound before you ask. TTFN Carole
