Stolen Kit

From an email:
a friend of mine has had all his kit stolen. Please keep an eye out for:
silver and red yamaha alpha ex with 70in, 39lb ceramic limbs
silver flame matrix with 70in 34lb G3 limbs
Black JVD case, and all accessories.
If anyone has any information, then let me know and I'll pass it on.

I don't know if stuff like this would travel outside of the London/Southeast area, but you never know...

Ouch! Looking on the bright side: that Yamaha does sound very distinctive, and the Matrix will stand out too! Chances are that someone will recognise it. I would imagine that the main market for something like tht would be among new archers, so someone will probably front up at a club somewhere knowing nothing but having all the kit. Eyes peeled!

There aren't many Alpha Ex's around and even fewer Yamaha Ceramic carbon limbs... I know, I used to have that setup in my recurve days.
Will keep an eye out.... this sort of thing HAS to be stopped
Rik... does your friend have the serial numbers?

I don't know about the serial numbers...

I've seen kit turn up in places like "Cash Converters" before, I know they don't seem too fussy about establishing ownership before buying (from my experience of getting rid of old Hi-Fi bits). I also get suspicious when I see items turn up on ebay, with daft errors in the description, or in the pictures (button screwed into the longrod bushing? Bow strung inside out?).

May be on eBay

Hi

I was just looking on eBay and if you search under 'Yamaha Alpha-Ex Recurve Bow + host of accessories' someone called mick20050_10 has a listing that looks something like the one you describe. It has 9 days left before the sale ends. Can you please let me know if it is the one as if its not im interested in buying it.

It would be a bit odd to sell stolen equipment, then specify, collection only!!!

I think its unlikely to be the same equipment given that the original post is over a year old....................
