Er, another tuning question?

I think this is telling me these arrows are probably too stiff but does anyone think it might be something else? When I read about "tail right" there is a suggestion that I need to move the arrow position but it's currently half a "points width"

Shooting very light at the minute - Draw weight 25# on fingers. Right handed, string FF 16 str, arrows Cartel Xpert 980 spine, 90gr points. Shot at 10m. I think the camera angle makes them look worse than reality but the tail is about 3" right. Otherwise they're landing pretty much where pointed.

Anyone fancy some spot diagnosis?

Tune properly, using target angles is not a good method because the target itself can force the arrow to stick in oddly.

i think 10m is too close to be looking at arrow angles, and like marcus rightly says different target materials and parts of the target can give different results.

i wouldnt worry about them too much.

with the exception of one arrows they all seem to be going about 8 oclock black/yellow so that would show your being consistent anyway.

Al

ps : you could try a 14 strand string if worried about arrows being too stiff.

have you shot those arrows at a longer distance ?

i ask since if i shot my x-perts (740s off 40lb) at 10m they would land like that too - on release the tail kicks right and then they straighten up and land straight even at 20yds - so far i havent been able to to work out why this happens or tune this movement out but in general they are landing where theyre pointed (except when i do something bad which is a lot of the time) and apart from i assume taking some energy out of the arrow this movement doesnt appear to have MAJOR negative effects

Shoot them at a variety of distances up 20y and use some bare shafts to compare them against.

Only one way to go. Bare shaft tune at 20 yds.Get the nocking point height right first, you can get a lot of strange results if that is not right. Then do a walk down to get the check the button position.
