Some parents should wrap their offspring in bubble wrap and never let them out of the house.
What kind of youngsters are we "bringing up".
What is this compensation world we live in.
When I was young I climbed trees and fell out of them but my parents didnt sue the landowner!!they gave me a clump for climbing them
If you dont want the kid to fall off the horse dont put it on in the first place.
Let kids take a few lumps and bumps it might do them good.
I had my share of canes, slippers, rulers etc.
Did my parents sue the school --no way I got another one for being naughty.
Did I turn out to be a child molesting, wife beating maniac NO I did not!!
We have a child protection sceme that borders on paranoia !!
What sort of system will not allow a father to take pictures at his own sons sports day!!
When I started archery you could take pictures at competitions now you have to register your camera before doing so.
Could you teach my child archery?no way do it yourself mate!!
All this is off topic I know but I think it is all indicative of a sad, scared society
full of do gooders, whiners and wimps.
Who are the trouble makers?thats easy, lawyers and politicians thats who !!
Thank God I am on the tail end of my life not at the start of it.

In the case of Richard Hammond, it was the rubber tree's fault for producing crap rubber that caused the front offside tyre to blow out. I believe a writ has been issued to the tree but as yet the tree has not responded.

And nightimer, I agree with everything you have said.

Could not agree more with Nightimer. I went to a Catholic School and was punished by simular methods. I Had a friend in USA He had pictures on his computer of his BABY BOY (as anyone would lets face it) when he caught his wife cheating he cut off the money and went for custody. It all ended up with her reporting him and Social Services and police, taking his computer, He is now serving 3-5 Years.

It wouldn't be so bad if the guy pressing the case wasn't a judge himself!

The parents should sue the Earth for it being there to stop the kid so sharply.

I see that some US states have enacted laws making it illegal to discriminate against lawyers on the grounds of their profession...
Apparently some businesses were refusing to deal with them due to the increased risk of being sued...
Nice to see legislatures standing up for the dis-advantaged....
