Actually Werner Beiter makes little money from his archery products, on many he looses lots. To him I am thankful he applies his mega brain to archery as well as medicine and injection molded cogs. Beiter stuff is sometimes ridiculously expensive but its always thoughtful and the best quality. I didnt mean to sound quarilsome I just felt like bigging up Werner.

If anyone is going to this years british university team champs have a chat to him, his english is not so bad as long as you stick to archery or golf. Ask him how he used to get golf clubs to glow for the high speed cameras.

It was not my intention to run down the beiter range of products - I in fact use several of them and have found them to be very high quality.

Not sure I could justify £60 for a button tho'

Me neither Barry - I use enough of his stuff to buy him a full set of glow in the dark golf clubs anyway - it just seems a very odd accessory. What was wrong with a little talcum powder, or a bit of lipstick on the fletchings? I better go buy some anyway!

Hi all,

I'm experiencing my vanes rubbing on the riser, they are leaving some of the rubber on the riser itself so i guess the talc is not overly necessary for me.

my question is regarding the changing of the vanes, the arrows are my first set and have been made up by Quicks they are xx75's 2013 spine and have the EP26 vanes on them. I am wondering what is available to do the same job as the EP26 but perhaps not as large on the height part of the vane (the club set of arrows i previously used had smaller height but just as long vanes, but were too whippy). how much effect would changing the vanes have and does anyone know where to get some alternatives?

many thanks

Joe

Well you can rotate them so useable more than once. Some of Beiter's kit does seem to fit as one of those Luxury catalogue items, so yes - the arrow balancer and limb gauges go with the steam powered carrot peeler as a 'must have' item. On the other hand items like the vane holder are immensely useful.

He just thought of an interesting way to solve a problem. Id rather have a broken bit of plastic then mess around with paper. I also think the stars would give a better idea of where the problem is. Saying that I have yet to try some. I have yet to shoot since August... Poor me...

I think the idea is that you can set up a line of them down one shaft, and they'll give you an idea of the exact range and extent of the problem. Talc will only only tell you where the points of contact are, not the places where *potential* contact lies (for a bad loose, say).

I'm told they don't do them to fit Navs, though...

Foot powder - I use Daktarin. If it doesn't last long, you're using it wrong My tin of talc has lasted two of us for at least two years

Clearance Stars - they're pretty resilient. The "rays" bend unless you hit them VERY hard and can be straightened again and again. You can also cut them down so that you minimise the damage. They're fiddly to put on, but certainly give good positive feedback, including highlighting differences between bareshafts of "supposedly" the same spine.
