String position, on nose or past

Hello All
I have been shooting (re curve)since April, and I am shooting distances of 50yrds, I have been coached/advised to bring the string back to the nose and anchor under the chin, but my arm maybe a bit longer than usual, and I find that my elbow sticks out a bit and is not in line with the arrow. However if I bring my elbow back a bit further, which is more comfortable to hold the weight of the string(30lbs), this would mean the string not touching the end of my nose, but going past it. I don't shoot this way at the moment, but does anybody have any comments.
Thanks

Jeff

Personally I dont use the nose as a reference point. Maybe its too short, but ive never actually touched my nose with the string.

String touches the centre of the lips and the tip of the nose. This results in a short draw but aids consistancy in each shot. Short arrows are a touch lighter and stiffer. Heavy points and no problems for me.

I personally anchor halfway on the right of my mouth and have my string touching the right hand side of my nose. I think its all just personal preference and which gives best results.

for many people the tip of the nose gives an excellent reference for a consistent draw length, good "eye to arrow" relationship and string alignment view. For some this means drawing down the side of the chin, rather than the classic "center of face" position. However you should do what ever works best for you, until you realise that I am right

I used to shoot using the centre of my chin and my nose... but Not Dead Yet coached my onto a side of chin referance for the lower half of my referance at the beginning of the year, and my shooting has been steadily improving and getting more consitent as the year has gone on (well... on the whole)

But do you mean side of chin AND tip of note (still) or JUST side of chin?
