I believe that you can't shoot any better than you can aim,
Truer words have never been spoken.

Most of Australia's best recurve archers use a dot BTW. The Titan scope was designed because Dave Barnes wanted a compound style fibre without a post interupting the view of the target.

RGS, have you tried the big dot yet? How did you get on?

Hi Adam,

Yes I did, mixed feel really, to most people I can see it would work well. I used a dot about 4mm. It tended to make me over aim. I also ended up looking at the dot instead of the target. For these reasons I took it off. I would not even consider one outdoors. Outdoors I see no advantage of a dot. The over aiming thing is a spin off of target panic. In my case I need to make aiming as less centre focused as possible. The dot was like a red rag to a bull to my subconscious mind to just mess it all up. But that's just me.

Cheers, Rich

Just goes to show, there's no universal panacea in this game.

You focus on the Red at 4:00. The way I'm reading this, you have to raise the bow to the Gold? Why not keep the sight central (12:00) & let gravity bring the bow down to the gold...then let rip.

I had trouble with my Hoyt compound bow holding steady on the gold, I would always come up just below in the red and that's where it stayed! I would have to physically force my bow arm upwards to get it on the gold. After playing around with the tiller, yes, tiller on a compound bow, 1/8th on the top limb made the bow "pivot" better in my hand and it seemed to float to the centre every shot.I now shoot Bowtech and the problem has gone.
