Question ACE spine numbering

Can some one enlighten me as to the C number on the ACE shafts?

I have 720 1260 which is the diameter and thickness of wall etc but what does the C3 and C4 mean?

Cheers

Check out this link to the easton site:-

http://www.bignami.biz/cataloghi/arceria/easton_frecce/catalogo_frecce_2003.pdf#search='Easton%20Spine%20 charts'

It has all the info you need. The letter is a series number of that given shaft. I think the C series are a few years old now.

Because of the difficulty of manufacturing ALL shafts to the same tight tollerances, I believe Easton assign batch numbers (or series numbers) to various manufacturing runs. If you end up having to mix shafts from different dozens, stick to one's with the same series number.

Thumbs up

Many thanks, that is now cleared up a puzzle.

I had been told it was a tolerance type rating and that makes sense.

Cheers to you guys, have a and some

It's definitely a weight tolerance grouping system, with C1s being the lightest and C6s being the heaviest.

I had the exact figures for the weight matching within the groups, but I've lost them.

Thumbs up

Thanks John, im possibly going to renew them later in the year with a new set, i am pretty sure these are the correct spine and setup.

since they are 3 & 4 rating i would hazzard that the difference is minimal?

Gunmender,

720's seem to me to be a bit weak for your set up, unless you only have a 24" draw length?

I draw 25 1/2" the numbers seemed to be right and they fly well, the tuning is pretty nuch in the middle range on the bow bits.

i shall see if i can try some 670s ???

If they fly o.k. leave them alone!! So much for arrow charts, it would be nice to go and try 3 or 4 spines either side of your "chart"spine, to see which fly and tune the best but not a lot of dealers have a ready supply of made up arrows at all lengths!
