Been there, done that, shooting compound. Even when you do get the elbow sorted this time, you will have to face the possibility that the injury will come back unless you take positive steps to prevent it.
A friend of mine at Euston recently had a similar problem, a dyed in the wool recurve archer who until a while ago swore blind that he would never turn to the dark side. For the last two seasons he has been having joint problems ( resting getting fit and then shooting for a while til it came back) and his interest in archery dropped of to the point at which he hardly shoot at all. His wife became so P****d off with him being miserable about not neing able to shoot she told him to get a new compound and go and shoot it.

Archer's elbow

Your elbow problem will only get worse unless given a rest for a while, but you could try going to the Doc.He/she might cure it by a steroid injection, which is painful but very effective and almost instant. Your shooting cannot improve while you have this in mind when shooting. Good luck!- by the way, it can be cured permanently, so don't worry too much.

Nothing can possibly go wrong if everything is properly organised.

First of all ignore all these good ideas and remedies.

Go to a doctor or a sports physio and find out what the problem is and get it treated !!

Well from the sounds of it, you've done everything really to get the proper tune and thus optimum level of Energy given to each shot without it going all wonky. So from that I'd say the XQ1s are just not as good as the border's you have.
Maybe better craftsmanship or material resulting to greater efficiency?

Don't try to ruin your tune for the sake of reaching a distance, yes its good convinience with not moving your sight all the way in but I doubt you'd want your group to spread out like they're on high. sounds like You can still reach the longest distance but you just need to put the sight in. So that's not a real big issue IMO.

Yes to all the wise people who said to STOP and rest till your elbows healed, nothing worse than getting your self into deeper trouble with other muscle groups due to your elbow.

The XP10 limb was some way ahead of its time, and still performs well. Mine are very quick and extremely stable, and smooth all the way to 32.5in.

And to reiterate - rest your arm and seek professional advice, preferably from a sports physio with some experience with archers if you can find one. I had similar trouble, and only when I rested, sought treatment and corrected the beahviour that caused it (combination of poor posture at my desk and poor bow arm technique) did it go away. Incidentally, a cortisone jab provided pain relief (after three days of excruciating agony!) but didn't solve the problem.

Aw! what ? - miss archery? Take a break? let every ligament and sinew return to non-shooting length and every archery specific muscle forget its proper use?...have to 'learn' to shoot again? awwww!
Or face steroid or cortisone injections in whats now the tenderest part of my whole body?...those big, big mama needles!!! owwww!
Or buy a 'bionic' bow that I'll have to draw through an even bigger peak weight?- god forbid I should have to let down! eeeek!
Or shoot lightweight carbons outside in the wind, to achieve a bit more distance? mmmm ...not ideal either.
An array of 'uncomfortable' options, I don't really fancy any - but then Sense would seem to dictate taking one of them as bullheaded arrogance and failure to accept the situation isn't getting me where I want to be either.

I still fancy grabbing some limbs that have a bit more speed to them at the shorter drawlength though - I'll try to force myself to do a bit less till I get some....but I'll go spare if I dont shoot a few arrows at least!

So apart from sticking to Borders- which have proved to have the speed- or at least the needed amount of 'snap' ( or energy transfer) earlier in the draw can anyone recommend a limb to do the same or similar job?

Borderbows- please feel free to say 'nay laddie, there's nay such beastie I ken... try these ones I've just put in the post for yi, and we'll trade off your success and rave reviews, your undying loyalty and promotion of our gear - against the value of em...' the archers dream!

Or I guess I'm looking for winnex's in a 66inch...maybe the new Hoyt's...Im open to offers............... ( yeah - dreaming again....zzz)
