| dread clicker Phillc"s remarks about the spacer on the Beiter clicker prompted me to experiment with mine which is currently on a gold medalist. The sleeve which fits over the screw end has a solid side and an open side, the open side must fit outwards,I mention the obvious because when I got mine it was the wrong way round, and produced an even quieter click than the right way. so it might have happened to someone else as well. Of the 4 securing holes I have,I have to use the top one which gives the weakest click, if I use the second hole I have to buy their long 4mm cap. As clickers go Beiter is avery expensive item, why on earth couldn"t they have included an item which can cost only cost a fraction of a penny as standard as this situation must arise a great deal of the time. I have to do all my buying by mail order. I actually feel feel a little embarassed about ordering such a tiny item by phone, further, it is not going to cost me a fraction of a penny but postage as well. My other bitch about this product is the wheel which is so thin, and so close to the riser that it is quite difficult to use. A nice looking product, well engineered but not particularly well thought out Iori Jones | ||||||||||||||||||||||

Have you tried the little Spigarelli one, with a double bend and no end cap? Seems to "click" very nicely and I don't have any problems with too much pressure from it (and my buttom set-up is pretty soft). Might be worth a look? £3.07 from Alt - Alternative Sporting Services Archery Shop

| I use the Sigarelli Guarda Clicker and much prefer it over the Beiter i started off with a Beiter and just could not get on with it saw this one on the shelf in Ten Ring and had a look and decided to give it a go also the black "back plate" sticks onto the riser and has "Degrees" on it so if your clicker gets knocked its easily put back into position

| You could always try putting a bend in the blade. twist the clicker 90 degrees out away from the riser and put a small bend in it then put it back to the right place. Should be louder and none of that buzzing. I replaced the wheel with a screw that way it does not move once set. |

| Good comments here re:washer and bending the clicker. I found the same issue with Beiter and W&W clickers - too quiet, but a few judicious bends and all is ok.

| Carefull not to bend it too much....like I did with a brand spaking new W&W....snapped across the middle. Complete waste of £5 - didn't even get too shoot it!!! I think I'll stick to the basic one from Merlin - less than £2, and comes with a kink for threading the arrow through!!! The click from it is certainly audible!!!

| I still say that a magnetic clicker is better, unlike a spring steel one in which the force decreases the closer to rest it gets, the force on a magnetic clicker gets stronger as the clicker closes ensuring a good clunk as the metal bit meets the magnet.
