| The benefits depend on the levels of understanding and interests of the members. If there are lots of new members, who are getting little or no coaching and are drifting into bad habits, one good talk could give them a better way forward. I'm sure there are AIUK members round your area who will know who to contact to find a coach. Discussing a list of what the members needs to learn would be a good idea too. |

| Perhaps contact a top archer and invite them to visit your club. If you pay travel, food and accommodation (even just put them up and feed them), you may be able to tempt someone to come down and talk to your archers. |

| take a look at the Essex coaching Guild for some ideas. They have quite a structured approach to sminars. Other examples will no doubt exist |

| Why not approach your local coaching group? Just a thought...

| If I understand what you are saying, you want something (archery based) for your archery club members to do, but you can't actually do any shooting. May I suggest you look up a "sports psychologist" try the web, or even your yellow pages/thompson local etc Many archers accept that the mental (quit the jokes) side of archery makes up as much as 90% of the ability to shoot well. There are many skills and methods that can be learned or applied to archers and archery such as goal setting, imagery, hypnosis, nlp, coping skills (even cures for the dreaded target panic) etc Certainly many olympic archers and top sportsmen and women from other sports use these mental skills to gain an advantage. These skills are not archery specific, though it might be useful to find a sports psychologist that specialises in "target" sports such as rifle shooting, or more commonly golf. There are lots of qualified sports psychologists around and many will give talks, and group sessions. Remember they are professionals, so be prepared to pay for their services, though with several of you, the cost shouldnt be frightening. |

| Hi G.A. Yes that's the scenario. The slightly better news is, that yesterday we were told that the hall is only required for two weeks not three as originally planned. However the idea of a sports psychologist is not a bad idea if we can organise it in time.

| North of Watford, innit! You could even go right back to basics, and have maintenance workshops. You'd be surprised how many don't really know how to fletch!
