| Occasionally, I have a problem with hitting my forearm. 9 times out of 10 it is becuase either my bow shoulder is popping up, or my elbow isn't rotated out the way. By setting your bow shoulder and elbow correctly, you should be able to get sufficient clearence for the string. Repeatedly striking your arm with that kind of force can not be good for you. get a long arm guard and make sure your shoulder/elbow are aligned correctly. I see you are in Glasgow....what club are you a member of???

| It's "Tubigrip" If you're hitting your wrist sometimes, the bow is badly set up (what is the "brace height"?). Download the document at Archer's reference if you don't know what brace height is. Get, and use, a wrist sling or finger sling (see above document again) and ensure you're not gripping the bow - this should help to remove the pull of the bow to one side.

| Ok, I've seen people wearing that. Never really had a problem hitting my arm, but long sleeves do get in the way.

and as in marcus' avatar which shows a more frontal shot so you can compare/see from both angles. ![]() Hope you don't mind me pasting it marcus, just seemed easier than having to scroll around to find it. yoda. |

| Yup. I've found that with a compound my good ones group well, but the bad ones are (albeit relatively) further away than with a recurve.

| Shot today with the club recurve. Two steps seemed to solve the problem! 1)The 45 Degree knuckle thing 2)Turning my elbow so the flat bit was vertical. This ensured the string didn't hit my arm and forced me to use the padded part of the thumb! Thanks again to everyone who gave feedback ^^
