I once watched my club president shoot 10 after 10 in the 45min warm up for a FITA 18, then he noticed that his limbs were the wrong way round! He switched them over and shot his usual 26-27 for the rest of the day. I don't think his sigt had moved much, but his confidence had.

depends on the manufacturer i think though - i have shot my (tillered) limbs upside down and it DID play havoc with my shooting - others have done the same with 'mass produced' limbs and seen little or no difference

does anyone have a definitive list of limbs that are properly tillered (ie - built as pairs rather than built singly and then matched) and those that are not ? - if not perhaps we should compile one ?

Rob, I think the list would be a good idea. It would reduce a lot of the misunderstandings made when discussing some of these tiller related issues.

we have tillered limbs.
we think that KG archery have tillered limbs too, but dont quote us on that.

Most of the big brands that we are aware of, Hoyt, W&W and Samick, That will probably include SF and KAP are all mass produced. We could be wrong mind. But these limbs are matched for there draw weight to be as close as possible, in which case small amounts of tiller difference will be spotted when the limbs are in upside down. Tillered limbs, and not matched limbs are only suitable the right way up, if the limbs are not tillered of zero tiller, nor 3 fingers under if thats what the customer wants.

The theory goes that if you set one limb with more preload, (the bottom limb) to achive tiller, you end up with that limb having different angles at full draw. the string will leave the limb at a more open angle. This means that it sits in a different location on the draw force then the other limb meaning a different stored energy, and more of a different performance than limbs with equal preload.
