String touching chest

Im just wondering, if the string touches your chest on anchor, is it a case of a bad technique? Or is it fine to shoot it that way? I have read somewhere that the string should never touch the chest and its wrong, but then again some says its fine. So which is it?

I always believe that there should be minimal interference with the string path be it from excessive contact with the chin (drawing back to far), digging into the chest (taking loose clothing with it), or contact with the arm guard. If its just feathering the chest consistency shouldn't be effected, providing you are feathering the chest each shot to the same degree.

Both!
Clearly it is better if the string doesnt have contact with the chest, but for some (well endowed ladies for instance) their physical shape means that there is no option and no amount of form will change that.
Be sure that you DO mean chest here and not shoulder. Contact with the shoulder could be bad technique/form.
If the string DOES come into contact with your chest, consider using a chest guard so that what ever you wear, the string has a consistent surface of contact. Also gives protection against personal injury

Ideally it shouldn't touch, but most of us are not ideal. Do what "fits" you (what is comfortable, what works) and then sort out the little details.

Ok, I'll make sure that if my string touches my chest upon full draw, i'll keep it that way to be consistent. I'll also get a coach to help check my form again.
