| Sam, I think you might find that some international coaches encourage their archers to explore all avenues at least in the privacy of the practice field. After all points mean prizes! on a general point about this forum- far too many poeple make statements about products that cannot be substantiated by publicly accessable material leading to ill informed conjecture. All I would ask is that if folk wish to make "absolute statements" implying facts,( such as US Olympic team... etc etc.....) please provide links to back them up. I hope you all have a nice day. |

| Off-topic posts moved to their own thread... in case someone wishes to continue the speculation...

| If you aren't willing to make changes based on your coach's advice, you should find another coach. A bow really isn't 'just' a bow. Some are better than others. You may well be able to achieve impressive scores with a complete lemon... but it's a damn sight easier with a bow that works. |

| You are assuming that all top end bows are created equal. They are not. If I took on a student shooting a riser I did not like I would expect them to change. I would expect to have to convince them that changing would be a benefit, but I am confident that I could do so. If i took on a coach who wanted me to change my bow I would expect them to have a good reason, but if they did I would try it.

Observe the relationship between an archer and their equipment Give unbiased feedback to the archer about that equipment Suggest equipment changes that would allow the Archer to increase their scores in the long term. If I had the attention of someone skilled in the art and science of coaching you can bet I would listen to what they had to say and act on it - or expect them to provide their skills and experience to someone who will. |

| We have an EMAS junior who sometimes trains at our club and he was asked to change his riser because the bush for the stabilizer wasn't straight.

| Not quite the same thing - that's a technical fault.

| No not him, I will PM you his name as I don't think I should publish a juniors name in an open forum ![]()
