Like Andy says... Research is Research.

I will be having words with Andy later.........

To be fair, many varied and interesting ideas come from this site. However, in researching on this site, as elsewhere, the requirement is to go through what you find and to weigh up what you think is the good stuff and separate it from the not so good stuff, to analyse the data, formulate a hypothesis, and by synthesising data arrive at a conclusion. Which can then be put up for discussion and fruitful discourse in order to arrive at my opinion on the matter....

PS for the avoidance of doubt.... tongue very firmly in cheek.

Isn't the button for something like alighning the nodes of the arrow towards the target so the flexing of the arrow is somewhat compensated by having the nodes alighned to the target and thus displacing in a straight line?

Ah right - didn't think of Darrell. Thanks for that. Must read through some of them again.

I have written for archery focus a couple of times and so I do have access to their back catalogue (although I have it all offline so I can peruse them when I'm away ), but thanks for the heads up.

And I thought the essay would be written for me by the time I got back from Glasgow today... A few good comments and thoughts, thanks, but it looks like I am going to have to do it the hard way

Back in 2000/2001, Jay Barrs was giving a talk at Banchory, and he told a story about Darrel Pace's compensator button. Apparently when JB took it to bits, a stream of rusty water came out of the button barrel.

Maybe it was BS, maybe it shows that with a consistent style etc you can achieve wonders.
