SIGN UP HERE TO JOIN THE ANTI-CLICKER LOBBY Sorry guys just don't see the point of getting so worked up about it (gets ready to duck ) I have been shooting for nearly 3 years and find I can draw to the same point without a piece of metal telling me I have done so. And I see others struggling to pull through the clicker and concentrating more on doing that than thier actual shooting form and consistency. ( ok I will now go and hide behind a very large thick wall while you all get ready to shoot me for the above comments). I relate this obssession with clickers as being the same as people insisting they have to ski parrallel who then force the ski's together rather than letting things flow natureally.

| I don't normally reply to such threads (but I do read them!!) 'cause these subjects are so subjective. However, I've just got back from shooting (25m tonite) AND I am working a lot on a technique change and so this subject is very current for me. My answer - it's all in the setup of the shot. I'm finding now (with my new technique) that if I get the setup right, the shot 'just goes' and is usually a big 10. The expansion through the clicker (after I've loaded the shot, started the aim/pull sequence) is beautiful. So Jock - I know what you mean!! The bit I'm working on (in parallel to the technique change) is believing (at full draw) that this shot can (and will) go so easily in the 10. Simon |

| I feel nothing in my back at all. Does that mean I am shooting off my arms?

| This is still an interesting thread despite there being so many clicker threads recently. It confirms for me that clicker use is so easily misunderstood, despite so many attempts to clarify it. Different archers seem to need their own personal explanation; I see nothing wrong with that. An archer taking up a clicker for the first time does not, necessarily, need the same help as one who has used one for years, perhaps wrongly for most of that time. The simple, "you pull, it clicks, shot gone," explanation is so true, but for those who have been struggling for months or more, it is not that easy to make it work that way. Its my Party has realised, I think, that it is that simple, but it seems it has not been that way since the start. The realisation has been some time coming, but that's to be expected really. Each archer has to learn how it works by succeeding; not just by reading and expecting "JOB done!" Learning to use the clicker well, is often slowed down/ confused, by the archer trying to shoot competitions/ rounds etc before they have made enough progress with their clicker work. This can so easily lead to misuse and confusion/ doubts about the whole set up. Getting through the clicker is about good form, yes. It is also about a good approach. Some clicker shooters often seem to try to draw to the point where the clicker goes click. At that exact point, they stop the draw to release the arrow. Others seem to attempt to draw right past that point, with the fingers slipping off the string on the sound/feeling of the click. Put another way, it's almost as if they intend to draw all the way to their follow through position, but at the click, their fingers melt off the string. Getting through the clicker is so much to do with "Knowing that you can". For many it is always a struggle, to pull that last little bit. For many of those strugglers their work would be easier if they practised pulling further so they "know" they can with ease. |

| Normally, my use of my clicker is quite smooth. I will draw until the blade of the clicker is on the very point of the arrow. Then check aim ect, then expand a little further and release. This usually goes without a hitch, unless I'm getting tired. Then form starts to go and getting through the clicker becomes difficult There are times where I draw straight through the clicker - when this happens I always let down immediately.
