| Don't know of any video but I have seen stills as used by 'Archer Analysis' on Archery forum (I'm hoping to get some shots to enter into it next weekend!)

| Try Angus Duggan's personal training videos - close but not quite overhead.

| Hi Rob, You've got my attention now. What bits do you really want to see in the video? |

| Thanks Rob. This is an interesting aspect of the draw, I feel. Rightly, or wrongly, my thinking has been this. Viewed from above, the draw elbow describes an arc, radius is the foreshortened length of the humerus.(so a level elbow gives a longer radius seen from above, than a higher elbow) The forearm, when the elbow joint is relaxed all through the draw, along with the arrow will look like a single straight line, rotating about the bowhand but increasing in length(as the arrow is drawn) The path of the nock will be a scaled down version of the elbow path as it is always a forearm's length nearer the pivot point. I think that for many archers, the elbow joint is tightened through part of the draw which puts the arrow and forearm out of line with each other so the nock is always following a straighter line. I'd be interested to know what the ideal shape is and why. |
