Increasing draw length

I've been playing around with my front shoulder alignment trying to get a better line,
and over the last few days my draw length, as measured by clicker position has increased by around 6mm.

Alignment does seem to be better and more stable, but my arrow point at full draw is moving closer toward the button, and I just wondered what the chaps felt was a safe limit.

There's 1.6cm between the back edge of the clicker and the front edge of the button - is this ok or should I be looking at some new arrows?

I like to think that at least one inch from button to end of shaft is a good length. however as long as the pile does not come in contact with the button it should be fine, but it is telling you that longer arrows may be on the cards.

I would recomend (for new arrow length) set the clicker at the end of the riser (none pocking out the back of the riser) and cut arrows to there. Some say you want 1 3/4 inch from button to clicker. Its all personal. I normally just round up my arrow shaft. If my old ones were 28 1/2 and I need longer I make them 29. This makes reading arrow charts easier as they measure in inches.

Hope this helps.

If you are happy with the way your arrows are flying since the change then do nothing.
My arrow probably comes closer to the button than yours, but the flight is perfect so!...
Also, if the length is increased the arrow needs to be slightly stiffer, if it needs to be stiffer then the weight increases,...... another problem setting up again.
So be happy .. .. stick with it and enjoy....... that clearance gives no safety risk.

I did pretty much the same thing. I now have to be careful when drawing as I can pull through the button position if my draw is not smooth. I usually settle 1cm ahead of the button. A form change at the suggestion of a coach added 2-3 cm to my draw length. I will probably go with new arrows sooner rather than later.

If you are using a clicker, the dangers of drawing the arrow off the rest isn't so real as it can be for non clicker shooters. However, IF your arrows are a little short for YOU, they can inhibit your draw.
If you could borrow arrows that are a little longer than your current ones, you might find you feel happier with them, or you may find the clicker creeps forwards again to take up the extra length. At least you could set your mind at rest.
