| I would say that I had a wobbly front arm on a regular basis..... this now appears to have been sorted by playing with various longrods (makes & lengths) - don't be afraid to try longer than you expect. I've ended up wit a 37" beiter longrod and a side weight, my arm is now steady on the gold - I still can't believe the difference!!! ![]()

| I'd be quite interested in this as well. I find that towards the end of the round (partiuclarly evident if I try and rush a FITA 18 shooting 6 arrow ends) I can hold it steady for around 6/7 seconds but after that I just get the shakes. I've been told that holding the bow as you would and doing slow, controlled figure of eight movements can help to strengthen the muscles, as can holding the bow on four points of a cross (up, down, left, right) for 10 seconds at a time can help to build up the muscles. |

| What is the let off on the bow? twelve pounds seem a little on the light side. You should be able to use back tension against the back wall to increase the holding weight of the bow.

| I think its about 70% let off. Its set to 50 lb peak ATM with about 12 lb at full draw. \thanks for info on a couple of excercises. Any others people try? Obviously the more you shoot the stronger your holding muscles will become but shooting once a week isnt helping with my aiming. \im averaging 56 on 1/2 doz just seems to drom slightly towards the last 2 doz

| If you find your front shoulder getting tired and want to try exercise, try a weight held at arms length, make it heavier that your bow, hold it as long and as steady as you can the relax repeat, an alternative to a weight is a cliniband, stand on one end hold the other. As LMP has said actual holding steady has a lot to do with bow balance, it may not be a purely strength issue, but exercise wont make it worse .

| I think thats what was happening to me yesterday. I was fine when I as shooting 3 arrows at a time and taking my time, but when I shot 6 at a time I was shaking and I just generally didn't feel right. Going to try a longer longrod next time I shoot though and see if that makes a difference. |

| I was using a doinker with no side weight, I now have a 37" beiter and a side weight. I tried a shorter & longer beiter but I wasn't as steady.. and the shorter doinker just felt like I was stirring porridge!! I am still shocked about the difference it has made to my shot (when I do it right of course)... I just thought I had an unsettled aim and subsequently shot very fast to try and hit a 'moving target'!!! ![]()
