It's not how long it is, it's what you do with it that counts

Try not to shoot those arrows you know you shouldn't and you will be surprised how many points you can pick up.

I "encouraged" the club to shoot 6 arrows ends in 3 minutes or under tonight indoors. In 2 hours I shot 136 arrows. The reason I booked the hall on a Satuday night was to get more arrow volume. I was happy to have the company of the other guys/gals, and they weren't too happy initially with the more intense regime, but I think they enjoyed it in the end

In fact two of our compound archers shot better than they have for a while (including one shooting a PB and new club record for a 3-spot portsmouth on the first 60 arrows!)

OB, you sure you got the time element of this right? I'm not a particularly slow archer on the line by any means, and even after having come down once or twice during an end, I've never yet been the last on the line.

I once got someone to time me from nocking one arrow... draw... anchor... release, to nocking the next arrow, and the total time taken was around 15 seconds.

By my rough reckoning we could TREBLE the amount of time (and thereby fun) we have shooting!

Nocking an arrow, picking one's nose, scratching one's ar** and looking all about you whilst on the line, does not constitute the business end of archery which in my book, is when you start the draw to completion of the shot. Much of the other stuff is standing there looking pretty, fluff and padding.

Look deeper into my post and try to understand the point being made. Do that and there is every chance you will learn to work smarter and perform better.
