how many sessions a day?

When presented with a two-day indoor shoot, I tend to shoot one session on each day, rather than two sessions on one day. I know most people opt for two sessions in one day. Is this because of convenience, or is there a psychology or physiology to it?

I would say one of the reasons behind shooting all in one day would be say you where shooting brilliant and in the groove, then you had to pack up go home and start again you may loose that flow.

Personally I'd shoot 2 sessions in one day, because otherwise it means having 2 days away from home, instead of one. Also twice the petrol costs!

Also there is the record status thing if your shooting a double round. It can only count if shot on the same day. If over two days its two single rounds for record purposes!

One other point is that if you shoot two rounds, the first score is the only one that counts as the single as I understand from previous discussions...

yea i tend to shoot both sessions, most of the time i shoot better in the afternoon...lol....go figure

The 1st session bit only applies in an imperial round.... iirc a wrs fita 18 record can be claimed on any round shot as fita allows as many ends of 'practice' as you like.... so long as it is 5 dozen consectutive arrows for scoring.

Depending on the distance, I would shoot the 2nd day so as to be there at the presentation (I feel it manners to support the club and other archers all the way... especially if I have a medal to collect). If I'm in that frame of mind at the time of entering, I might enter all sessions so as to practice in competition conditions.
