...man has to eat. Man has saleable skills and there's a market for that. Maybe its not his main income, but if he hasn't been ousted for some serious reason- and he's promoting our sport and teaching well...then he's ok...who can stop him earning a bob or two of his own back.

if, on the other hand some serious issue has arisen...which sounds doubtful, then matters would naturally run their course. Serious issues are thankfully still fairly rare, more likely at this point to guess it as a 'misunderstanding and parting of the ways'.
It isn't difficult to upset club comittees!!
And next to impossible to stop him offering guidance to newcomers

I am sure I have read that under GNAS insurance a person can shoot/visit a club six times before deciding wether to join or not. might i suggest you use this time to asses the potential new members ability.

If this person is still a qualified coach then you can not stop them coaching and to try and suggest potential new members from him would need to do another beginners coarse brings into question that coaches proffessional ability and may result in this day and age legal action.

So to sum up welcome the potential new members with open arms show them you are a friendly club and point out that as the coarse was not done under the supervision of your own coaches that upon proof of completion of the course with this person they may shoot two or three sessions with your club arrange a mutually conveniant scedule and make sure one of your coaches is present to give them a quick once over and as you are so friendly a few extra pointers on thier technique.

I once knew someone who once very nearly ended up in a similar situation. He perhaps could on occasion be a somewhat difficult individual but he was good at heart and actually a significantly better coach than most. If it's anything like that I wouldn't hold it against anyone, including the original club, that he found himself in difficulties and decided to use his expertise outside that arena.

I tend to find you get so much politics in club committees as most have strong personalities, it's like a miniature version of a thread on club colours, only on a daily basis. However, as I've said before it's only strong personalities that care enough to do something about what needs to be done.

As to the archers he coaches, I wouldn't hold that against them either. Treat them as you would anybody else who says they've done a beginners course and only a beginners course unless you have evidence to the contrary.
