| Many of the form videos don't make that anywhere near so clear, in fact it actually looks as if the trap's on both sides are 'clenching'!...and yes overextending leads to leaning and the feeling of a poor bone to bone stability. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| When the bow arm shoulder unit is set low and in line, and the bow is drawn, pushing to the target, to me, isn't about getting the bow hand further away from the face. The pushing seems to me, to be preventing the bow hand from getting closer to the face; there is no front or back movement. I feel as if I am using the back muscles to swing the whole bow arm away to the left(right handed archer). It is a very slight sensation and is in balance with the draw elbow swinging round to match. The two together cancel each other out so the sight stays in the gold. I describe it as the two arms swinging wider apart and stretching the draw force line, which, in turn draws the bow a little more. I think KSL calls it angular movement. If my ideas are right, I may be describing the same thing he does. |

| Yes you are Geoff, but in English. Gawd knows why I decided to try tensing both sets of traps. It seemed to work for a while feeling very strong -but ultimately both pulling and pushing in the same shoulder just lends to antagonism and ... a pain in the armpit when you look up and right.... Oh well live and learn...and I've learned something new - don't do it! | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| Really? I've been told not to lock it so that, when I release, my hand will go forward instead of jerking any which way. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| I have no idea if this is useful or not....but there's plenty of footage of what the scapula looks like in action... YouTube - technique back view - 28/2/08 |

| I Think what you are looking for is the Dee Gee Trianing Aid (Quicks). Quote: A leather elbow cup is used to train the use of back muscles instead of the arms to draw the bow £16.50 from Quicks
