Beginner's Award worksheets

We're running the next beginner's course at Oxford Archers in line with the FITA feather/arrowhead awards, and I am therefore in the throes of writing lesson plans and worksheets. The stuff in the the FITA/GNAS beginner's manual is good but a little dense to actually give to a beginner on their first day at the range, so I'm trying to pare it down a bit. The thought occurred to me that one of the good folk on AIUK may have done this already, and that I shouldn't be reinventing wheels...

So, in the spirit of sharing "best practice", has anyone adapted the FITA/GNAS beginner's curriculum for use in their own club yet? Produced any course materials for it? Is anyone even using the scheme?

I wait in anticipation...

I shall be looking at these responses as well Nat as Ive just sat down to do the planning for mine and had considered the FITS Beginners awards for our next one. This course will be more of a what we have been doing but slightly more structured than when I learnt. Simply because I think people can develop so much more in that first six weeks than we have been expecting in previous years.

Yes we have used and adapted the FITA/GNAS beginner's curriculum. Its a pretty good guideline as a basis for setting up a session plan.

Ideally, yes. Reassuring to know others have been thinking along the same lines too!

Oh i'm sure he would, but i would be failing in my duties as a coach. How would he ever learn anything, if EVERYTHING was done for him.

I know hes not a lazy, liberty taking, sit on his backside coach !!

So i think he should reinvent the wheel. BY HIMSELF

Thank you for the gender amender there hooktonboy. It seems fewer people have a grasp of French than I had anticipated...

My dear flamingbladerider, I was under the impression that the purpose of a coach is to teach archers, not reinvent wheels. Hence the question. However, seeing as it was clearly hellishly immoral of me to seek a short cut, I will indeed write my own worksheets. And beat myself with a stick in penitence whilst I'm about it.

For those who are interested, I'll upload them when I'm done.
