International Archers training regime

Im sitting at my desk at work thinking about my archery training for this year. Im deciding to increase my training per week but dont really know how far I need to go.

What regimes do Inernational/ top national archer use? I have a plan in mind but would like to compare to actual regimes used by top level archers. When I was a Junior I just shot as many arrows as possible. This time round I want more of a structure.

So what your saying is there is no Magic number to shoot. Just taylor your own shooting to your needs.

Your 5 week plan at the end does not seem relevant to me as I have no plans for specific competitions. I just want to utilise my time each week as best I can.

If Im right or wrong I dont know, but what I get from your document is that I should get in practice where possible but have it structed and focused.

My plan is

Mon - Wed - Fri - Cardio work (Cardio only as I am trying to get down to fitting weight)
Tues - Thurs - Sat - Sun - Shooting/Reversals (weather dependant)

Does this seem like a logical plan?

From what I have seen of the junior GB squad training schedule the overall package also includes mental excercises (up to 3/4 hour each night) as well as the physical excercise and shooting side

Also the 300 arrows per day seem to be broken down as follows 100ish with a stretchy band, 100ish promoting good form shooting with a lighter limb weight bow, finishing off with 100ish using competition bow.

When we asked Peter Suk what excercises we should do (Adults looking at MB and on the way to GMB), he suggested all the excercises on the sheet that comes with the Thera Band as suitable for most archers in the UK to get the levels of general fitness required and to top this up with shooting regulary with good form.

Peanut buttercups.... sounds like a plan...

I shoot about 200 arrows a day. When i'm not being lazy i run twice a day (short runs only). I have a stretching/strength exercise regime from my physio and they're supposed to be done daily but get done if i have time.

I do bellydancing and running for core strength and general fitness.

I eat practically nothing because i get fat just looking at calories. But the basics cover up to 5 meals a day that varies depending on what i'm doing that day... i make an effort to cover the basics of carbs and protein. And i don't sleep on unburned high carb or high fat meals.
