Coaching in Warwickshire

Does it happen? I have been informed that the Warwickshire Coaching Committee will not run any more level 1 courses, nor intend to run any level 2 coaching courses. Can anyone confirm this?

Warwickshire Coaching courses

Not too sure who has miss-informed you of this. I have been reliably informed that there will be a level Two course running later this year or early next year. The training material has not been released by GNAS yet, only the course roll out has taken place. There will also possibly be a Level One also running somewhere in the county. There is a lack enough qualified bodies and those willing to help in the County to perform all these tasks as the Coaching Group would like to. Details will be circulated as and when known. Contact Coaching Group secretary for further correct info. If you require Coaching Group contact details i have them. If you reply i will pm info to you.

From the NCC Newsletter issued about a week ago...

Level 2

Regional Level 2 roll out training has been delivered to coach education staff in GWAS, WMAS, & NCAS (including NCAS and EMAS staff).

Wales will receive their training in April, and Scotland in May and an additional EMAS training day arranged in 2008.

The NSG are putting the final touches to the Level 2 Qualification material. A pre-course disk will be available in April 2008, for course registration and staff awareness training. The candidate and tutor packs will be available in July 2008.

I was told exactly the same last year by the person GNAS told me to call who was responsible for coaching courses in Warwickshire. I wanted to get on a level 1 course and was told there were no courses planned in the forseeable future I was recommended to do a leaders course instead.

Thats all well and good but I would have liked to get on the proper GNAS coaching ladder!

if anyone can tell me different about level 1 courses in Warwickshire (or Northants or Wmids) I would love to know.

I wonder if that was a "I'm sorry Sir, but you're the 15th person I've told today there's no demand for that sort of thing"-type answer...

Get back to them and ask them to hold your details until one becomes available. You don't need many for a course...

Ask the county organiser to contact region for other courses held in adjacent counties that may need more participants. I know YAA have had people outwith Yorkshire on recent courses.
