Follow up question from the first interesting question

How many people here (me included) knowing that a repeatable style is so very very important. Spend hours and hours fine tuning their bows, and or spend money like its going out of fashion on a new doodiddly to up their scores. But hardly spend any time trying to improve their technique?

No longer 'spending for points' (well, not seriously), but still capable of knowing exactly what I'm doing wrong and still doing it! Pointed out to me at a recent comp - I could tell by the look of despair on the guys face as I turned from the line - "You know you're doing it, so why do you keep doing it?

I find many archers spend as much time inventing explanations or excuses for why they do what they do as doing anything else.

"Your bow shoulder is very high"
"Ah theres a reason for that -"<insert lame excuse>

It is very interesting how different people react to being told something about their form.Sometimes, the archer's response is modified according to who is passing on the pearls of wisdom.
Some archers go on the defensive as if the advice carries with it some sense of blame. It's like they are back at school and they've got another sum wrong and teacher is making them do it again ,TEN times.
Some archers take on board everything they hear and end up shooting with a style designed by a committee.
Others are selective and filter the advice before deciding what to do about it.
Sometimes the filtering is based on who offered the advice, sometimes it is done with more serious thought.
People! Aren't they just brilliant things to watch.

i know a whole club of arches that buy the best but only a few venture further than 10 miles. the rest dont even venture.

as for technique, they get by.

dont need your feet to count the rounds shot either.
