arrows going very right

hi all,

was shooting at 70m last night with a new tab facing - old one was very past it - and noticed my arrows had started to go very right - black/white at 3 o'clock. they were grouping fine but just too far over.

my sight is now wound quite far in (R/H'er by the way).

im going to try and check the bow sight alignment later today, but i have a feeling its ok, so any other ideas peeps?

could it be that the arrows are the wrong spine? i know they used to be a little on the stiff side?

thanks in advance

For a right handed archer, stiff arrows will go to the right, and weak ones to the left. Was the wind blowing?

Did you try the old tab facing afterwards to see if that put the arrows back in the centre?
The change could be connected to that.

Al only shoot in a right to left wind as you were the other night! Alternatively shoot your tab in and trim correctly (or as you had the last one before) you may be getting a bit of flapping on the string from the extra new/stiffer material! I've just changed my oberon face and its taken 20 dozen and a bit of trimming to get the nice flight and feel back to my shot.

Me too. Unless I have completely lost it, which is possible.

Question

it could be the finger tab in two ways:
the tab if not cut to the right shape could be pinching the arrow nock
or if it is a different tab then you may have created a new anchor point

Just to confirm,
For a right handed archer if the arrow is stiff it will go left if weak then to the right.

AKC

edit: with regards to your issue my guess would be you are getting a better release from the new face and all you need to do is recheck your tunig to bring your sight back to the center position

ok sorry i posted the above in a bit of a rush at work earlier.

no wind, nice calm day.

the old tab facing was very deaded - it even had a hold developing in it.

the new tab facing is on an identical tabd and has been cut in the same way, trimmed up and, as far as i know, offers plenty of clearance. the loose feels a lot cleaner, as expected with a new tab face (which reminds me that i need to order some more from OB).

to be honest i never had a problem shooting in oberon before - main reason i still use it), and even last season i still had my sight wound quite far in, which tends to make me think it is the arrow spine at fault????

like i said i will also try and see if the sight is aligned ok but cant do that at the mo (crime fighting to do)

But that would work the same for weak arrows too presumably, if the button was that soft it was bottoming out and causing clearance trouble.
