Aha I thought a slanging match was when you were making personal comments about somebody and not just stating an opinion.... Learning all the time

That's a very good philosophy, which I applaud wholeheartedly.

My comments were general, not specific, and if you feel that you are being got at, that was not my intention.

So, since you are a GNAS Coach :

Does the above apply to you?
Does it apply to me?
Do you feel you lack credibility?
Do you feel I lack credibility?
Are you one of the exceptions?
Am I one of the exceptions?
Do you take yourself seriously?
Do you feel I am hiding behind the Code of Conduct?
Do you feel the Code of Conduct is a weapon to be used against you?

So many straight questions... not one of which will receive a straight answer because by doing so, you could place yourself in an untenable position...

No I didn't feel that but thanks
I just didn't think that it was a fair comparison for the reasons I stated

It was attempted once but was proved to be the nonsense, as it was being used as a diversionary tactic by a weak individual

Iain,

My main concern is that in my opinion the gnas coach badge in itself is not the guarantee of the quality that I think it should be

"The GNAS Code of Conduct requires all members to behave in a manner which upholds the dignity of the Society and its members, and never abuse any other member of the Society.

The Scottish Sports Council Code of Ethics determines that

•Coaches will not engage in any behaviour which undermines the status and esteem of the profession.

• Coaches should respect the competence of other coaches and related professionals and will not engage in public criticism. "

FWIW this is the party line north of the border and I have been informed so not too long ago

I think this is where the problem lies (or some of it)... there is a distinct lack of respect for the badge / certificate and how it is gained!
