To those that know me I hope so, but to those that don't know me well enough to have an opinion .. no

Not as far I know as I've never been coached by you

Not until I have to

I think it's a handy refuge for you when you get cornered

It was attempted once but was proved to be the nonsense, as it was being used as a diversionary tactic by a weak individual

I answered truthfully as that's how I see it. the gnas qualification does not guarantee a useful coach at the end of the course so how can you tell good from bad if you nobody you know actually has been coached by that person?

How did you choose your coach Yoda ?

There are good points to be raised in a thread like this (and its sister thread): how to be constructively critical of an organisation within that organisation;how to improve the standing and reputation of coaches in the UK; whether the coaching courses in the UK are fit for purpose. Etc etc.
Instead, what we seem to have is unseemly bickering, which is obviously based in something that is unknown to the vast majority of members of the board, fuelled by others with axes to grind. It is not useful, does not contribute to the answers to any of the above questions, is not entertaining, and, given the world-wide access to the board, can only serve to make our sport in our country a laughing stock.
So just shut up and get on with some constructive comments.

Remember there are mixed feelings about people who have been coached by the same person.... otherwise we would all be trying to get the same people. Each coach has their own approach and holds their own values as to where their focus lies... this may be perfect for 1 archer, but not another. As no 2 archers are the same.. where 1 will praise their coach to the highest degree, another archer may completely disregard his abilities as no good.

Who are you being rude to? I hope it's not me as my comments are constructive I've been asked a list of questions by meddler a senior gnas coach and have answered them honestly

I agree, but usually the results speak for themselves

Thanks John, but actually I agree with the guidelines and I will do my best to uphold them. We could do worse

John,

Please revisit your answers, and read them from my point of view. And think about exactly what you have said. Then consider how they could be interpreted.

If you want to help bring GNAS coaching forward, you will have to put your money where your mouth is, and help... not just in Oban, but through the whole of WoSAA.

It is easier to pull something down that it is to build it.

If the coaching badge isn't a mark of quality, how do you suggest we make it a mark of quality?

Iain.
